2003 T1N Sprinter 3500 158wb Camper Conversion
Hey there!
I’m listing my trustworthy old Sprinter that has been an amazing surfing/camping rig for many years now. The van seems to be super solid and I have confidence in her mechanically. That said, this is not a glamorous conversion and a lot of basic stuff inside is incomplete/broken. I also have some pretty valuable conversion stuff installed and more ready to be installed.
Installed:
-$1,400 Isotherm fridge
– 2x 100w Renogy solar panels
– Renogy charge controller
– Renogy 1000w inverter
– 60A Renogy DC to DC battery charger (https://www.renogy.com/12v-60a-dc-to-dc-battery-charger/). Dometic fan. Warm – LED lights throughout on switch
– 3M Thinsulate insulation throughout
– Dometic fan
– More that I’m forgetting
Uninstalled:
– Dometic stove
– Water heater
– Super nice water tank
– Dickinson Marine wood stove (http://dickinsonmarine.com/product/newport-solid-fuel-heater/)
– More that I’m forgetting
All that electrical stuff isn’t running right now because someone needs to run through the wiring and fix it. There’s a 200AH Renogy AGM battery that needs to be replaced because I’ve discharged it too low too many times. Battery under the hood is new, just the house battery that needs to be replaced.
Some sweet looking BFGoodrich KO2s that are new and bigger 16″ wheels. Looks pretty legendary with the dually setup.
Not a lot of rust on the van because I picked her up in Texas. Surface rust showing now in some spots, but very minimal for a van her age thanks to spending most of her life in Texas. Oil always changed ahead of schedule and was professionally maintained. New EGR. New brakes. New fuel pump.
In summary, sort of a project, but not too far off from being a pretty perfect camper. I’m selling her because I moved to Hawaii and there’s no point in having her sit unused in California.
Best!
