1988 FORD MUSTANG ASC/MCLAREN CONVERTIBLE

In 1987, McLaren made 495 of these and due to their success, made 1,015 in 1988. There are significant differences between these cars and the production Mustangs. Sanford Block, operator of the ASC/McLaren International Registry, notes that they have additional body bracing as well as improved handling and design. A Mercedes-Benz SL-style convertible top and a windshield with a steeper rake give it that great look. The Dealer has a clean and clear title.

The modifications by ASC/McLaren made a balanced Mustang convertible in perfect proportion and accentuates the body lines of the original. The raked back windshield and sleek soft top make for a very aesthetically pleasing Mustang roadster that is all-American with some European flavor. In brilliant Red, the alloy wheels, ground effects, rear spoiler, fog lights, chrome tipped dual exhaust and blacked out tail lights complete the muscular exotic look.

A true roadster, those gray leather bucket seats are supportive with side bolsters that hold you snug while cornering. You have all the amenities including: power seats, power steering, tilt wheel, cruise control, power windows and locks, power mirrors, cold A/C and a premium sound system, plus an unlimited view above you. McLaren badges are prominently displayed and remind you that you are driving something very special, unlike any other Mustang on the road.

Ford’s legendary 5.0 Liter V8 engine is mated to a leather wrapped T-handle floor shifted automatic transmission. The production ASC/McLarens have springs that lower the car about an inch and a half for a perfect stance and better handling than stock. Dealer states that the engine is strong and transmission shifts smoothly, brakes are firm, and suspension is tight. The miles are low and the car comes with receipts, original paperwork and the window sticker.
