I love him so much, I hate making this. New landlord requires cats to be declawed (but declawing has a high rate of arthritis, bathroom problems, aggression, and depression) and due to a medical emergency and losing my job, we can’t afford anywhere that allows cats.

Only cat preferred (unless your residence is big enough to separate him from other cats)
Indoor cat only (unless harness trained), he is not a fighter.
Rehoming fee at the bottom, please read the whole post if interested.

Gibbs (a.k.a. Gibby, Gibster, Mr.Gibby, and Gibbgibb) Male cat, around 6 years old, neutered but doesn’t get along with other cats due to jealousy.
Isn’t mean to humans though, when he gets scared he just runs off. Hasn’t scratched or bitten anyone, and I’ve only heard him hiss at other cats.

Lap cat, loves to lay on a blanket in your lap and cuddle all day.
Only seems to sometimes play with solo-toys at night, and prefers playing with string with an owner, or watching mice on the TV.

Hates baths, but needs at least one for summer time because he gets greasy and doesn’t clean himself well.

Likes IAMS Salmon kibble, but loves Friskies Seafood Sensations kibble.
Has hated any sort of “wetting” of the kibble that I’ve tried. Doesn’t like water added, doesn’t like broth added, doesn’t even like wet food added. Except for a squirt of salmon oil.
The only wet food he seems to like is Sheba seafood, but it’s expensive for entire meals.

He eats once a day to the android alarm/ringtone “Rush”, and only meows for food after the alarm goes off.
His meows are often funny and cute, a “mergow” as my favorite.

Some stuff that scares him/makes him uncomfortable: He hates brooms and mops, strangers in the house (maintenance), moving big things (moving furniture/boxes), people running around, bathrooms (baths), things being tossed (even if away from him), and while he doesn’t seem scared he hates getting picked up/held.
As long as he has a covered place to hide when he feels spooked, he’ll be OK. Once he warms up to you he also appreciate cuddles when he’s upset.

He prefers face, cheek, and head rubs over back pets (will get annoyed if his back is pet too much). Even enjoys a tummy rub when he displays it.
You’ll need to trim his nails if you don’t want painful biscuits, but he gets freaked out when held in one place & doesn’t like his paws held.

He’s a little grumpy & moody sometimes, but if you show him lots of love and invite him over to cuddle enough, he’s very cute and affectionate. He would love to share a bed at night as well, but needs to be shown that he’s allowed to because he wasn’t allowed in my room after I found out one of my plants is bad for cats.

Text or email only please, I don’t want to risk crying and embarrassing myself.
Can meet to rehome any day between 8pm-10pm, any time on Sunday (29th), or anytime February 1st or 2nd.

Rehoming fee: $60
Includes all of his stuff:
Remaining kibble, toys, cat tree, scratching post hammock, bowls, water jug, bed, cube hut, blanket, large litter box with door, litter scoop, crinkle tube, cat nip, treats, and carrier.
