Male Shiba inu

We are needing to re-home our 1year 1 month old intact Shiba. He is on the smaller size for a Shiba which we really like!

He is very intelligent, active and goofy. He loves to do tricks as well as is so motivated and focused to learn new ones. He is so curious and playful! He also enjoys walks, playing endless games of fetch and just being outdoors and people watching. He also enjoys when we blow bubbles for him to chase. In the summer he likes to chase the water from the hose which is so funny to watch! When we visit family on there farm he loves to run and explore. He has been around cats as well as our 3 yr old. He likes other dogs just not other Shibas it seems. He is also completely house trained and he sleeps in his dog bed in the house.

We are needing to rehome him because he really isn’t a good fit for our family. We would recommend that his future family doesn’t have kids. Also the owner needs to be authoritative with him as well as be willing to put in training time with him. Asa acts like an alpha and tries to “be in charge” while my husband is at work. He rarely challenges my husband. We have been having issues with him nipping at myself as well as our daughter. I also want to be clear that the nipping is not something we deal with daily. It has only happened 3 or 4 times in the past 6 months or so. Its just enough for this mom for it to be an issue for our family. He also isn’t fond of visitors/strangers and takes a while to warm up but with more training and practice I think he would do better.

We are certain he will be a great dog with the right person! We are disappointed but look forward to finding him a good home! We are asking $100 rehome fee but that is negotiable!
