Equipment Operator and Laborer (Year Round) (SE Minnesota)

We are seeking a full-time Equipment Operator and Laborer to operate equipment and carry out various tasks on our Family Farm. This person should be competent and skilled in repairing and maintaining equipment as well as operating farm equipment. We are looking for a self starter who is able to work alone and problem solve. We farm row crops 20 minutes south of Rochester, MN. This is a full time position with an average of 40 hrs per week over the year. We want and strive for our employees to have a personal life outside of farming. We do this by providing a seasonally flexible work schedule and we try our best to not work long days for long periods of time. We want you to have and enjoy your family time. Yes, we work hard and long hours certain times of the year when tending to our crop. There are other times of the year where it’s easy to have a more flexible schedule such as a 3 day weekend or a few weeks off. We have newer farm equipment that is user-friendly and comfortable to operate. There is an opportunity for you to use our equipment to farm your own land.

Position Responsibilities:
– Plant, till soil, apply fertilizer and harvest crops.
– Deliver grain and other crops to purchasers.
– Operate and maintain farm equipment including vehicles and machinery such as large tractors, planters, tillage implements, skid loaders, fork lifts, semi trucks with trailers, and pickup trucks with trailers.
– Maintain headquarters property including lawn mowing and snow removal.
– Any other duties that may be required for the success of the farm.

Position Requirements:
– Prior experience operating construction or farm machinery preferred.
– Prior experience operating semi trucks with trailers preferred. CDL preferred but not required as we are ag exempt.
– Ability to work alone and self-manage assigned daily activities.
– Willing to train the right candidate.

Compensation:
– Pay range is from $20-$35 per hour depending on experience and qualifications.
– PTO and Holiday Pay
– Willing to help with relocation expenses
