Cross posting from the CL Nashville

Dobby is a 5/6 month old female rednose mix. She was found as a stray off Briley PKWY in nashville in extremely poor condition from malnourishment, a double ear infection, and extreme dehydration. Her original owners were located via Facebook and they have refused to retrieve her after being asked to cover cost of veterinary expenses. Their exact words were, “f*** that, it’s just a damn dog.” She is on the mend and looking for a new home.

She is a very smart and sweet girl and good with other dogs, but has only been around dogs her size and larger. She likes to chase cats, but is easily redirected. So far she is good with all people and is working on crate training. She is a mouther, but is quickly redirected. She is a relatively easy going little girl. She walks well on a leash and has a GREAT natural heeling ability. She is very tolerant of cooperative care such as being given medicine, ear drops, and nail trims. She is not a big fan of a bath though. Dobby LOVES a car ride and would be happiest in a family where she is able to go to pet-friendly locations occasionally. She would also be a great companion for someone wanting an only-dog to smother with affection. She has no problems staying up close and personal with her people.

Dobby loves her jackets and accessories! She has finally learned to play with toys and other dogs. She is still working on basic manners due to not having been taught any at her previous living arrangements. She is not super interested in treats yet, but does enjoy mashed sweet potato and peanut butter. She is very petite and will likely stay that way due to the level of malnourishment she experienced. She is currently around 35lbs, but has started to gain back some weight.

We are asking a moderate rehoming fee of $185 to cover the cost of veterinary expenses that were necessary to keep Dobby from succumbing to her condition. We will provide a copy of her records to validate this cost and the cost of starting her puppy shots. Dobby has been wormed once (she will be wormed again the second week of February) and has had her first round of puppy shots (next are due the week of Valentine’s Day). She will come with her toys, blanket, a starter bag of kibble, and some treats.

Due to Dobby’s breed, we are asking that potential adopters fill out adoption paperwork and agree that if the adoption does not work out, that Dobby be returned to foster care and not surrendered to a shelter.
