Rehoming a 12 month old poodle mix. He appears to be a poodle mixed with some sort of terrier–perhaps a Wheaten terrier? We cannot guarantee his breed(s) and are just relying on input from groomers, vets, etc. He was a rescue dog that we got several months ago. Since then, we have had him groomed, gotten him all his shots (we had to assume he never had any) and started him on dewormer and flea and tick prevention. We got him neutered, microchipped, and we’ve gotten him up to a healthy weight. He is currently a little over 30 pounds and probably won’t get much bigger. He will come with his vet records indicating that he is not due for any shots until November.

He is a sweet dog, and gets along with kids, cats and other dogs. He will chew on things, but he prefers chew toys and treats. He LOVES to play tug of war. He knows sit and shake and is working on lay down.

He is potty trained and currently is taken potty on a leash. If he has accidents, it seems to be because he wasn’t outside long enough. He needs to be outside several times a day for 10-15 minutes or until he goes. For this reason, it would be helpful to have a fenced yard, unless you would enjoy that many long walks. We would like to keep him because he’s a great dog, but we don’t have a fenced yard and can’t afford one right now, and we just can’t dedicate that much time to taking him outside.

He is crate trained and sleeps in his crate at night. If he is crated during the day, he tends to whine.

There is a rehoming fee to cover some of the expenses we’ve had for him. Keep in mind that we’ve spent hundreds of dollars on shots, neuter surgery, etc. He will come with pretty much everything if you want it: crate and pad, doggy bed, food bowls, collar, leash, harness, shampoo, brushes, treats and toys, enough dewormer to last through June, and whatever is left of a big bag of food. Keep in mind that as a poodle mix he will need grooming several times a year and that can run from $60-100 or more, depending on where you go.

He is a great dog and we have taken very good care of him. We are not in a rush to get rid of him, and we would like him to go to a good home where he will be well taken care of. If you are interested, please reply with a little bit about yourself and your situation.
