About the Artist:
Artist: Josie Van Gent Edell of Charleston, South Carolina (1921-2006). Moving to the Charleston area around 1970, Ms Edell was a native of Holland. Upon receiving a scholarship from Queen Wilhelmina, she studied art at the Kunstoefening, Arnheim Academy where Josie developed her skill with pastels, watercolors, and oils. Josie was known as South Carolina’s Best Watercolorist and took top honors in many art shows!
