Victim Service Assistant – SAFE Child Advocacy Center (CAC)

The S.A.F.E. Child Advocacy Center (CAC) is located in Juneau, Alaska and is a program of Catholic Community Service. The CAC is comprised of a multidisciplinary team of professionals who advocate for the prevention, safety, well-being and healing of abused children.

Duties of this position include advocating for children and families with the Multi Disciplinary Team (MDT) and other agencies, monitoring cases seen through the CAC, providing support and intervention services for the client and their non-offending family/caregivers, conducting forensic interviews with children ages 3-17 years and collaborating with members of the MDT to conduct investigations. May also be called on to provide testimony in court. This position requires the ability to maintain one’s own emotions while compassionately and effectively communicating with individuals who may be experiencing a difficult situation and, potentially, a heightened emotional state.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree preferred in social work, law enforcement, psychology, counseling or a related field. Relevant experience may substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis. Pre-employment background check required.

This position is full time, 37.5 hours/week. Starting wage is $22-25/hour DOE.
