The frozen food manufactor New Classic Cooking has the following open position:
Quality Assurance Supervisor
The QA supervisor will work as a team with Production Supervisors and a cross functional team to ensure food safety and quality are improving. The role is based in New Jersey area and would be for the third shift, flexibility needed.
Assisting the QA Manager with daily paperwork, generating reports, trend analysis, identification, and execution of improvement opportunities.
Following to the SOP and Good Manufacturing Practices that are in effect assuring the quality of our products.
Approving incoming materials by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; rejecting and returning unacceptable materials.
Request, maintain and update all the documentation from approved suppliers.
Train new employees as necessary and coach plant employees.
Approving in-process production and finished products by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; communicating required adjustments to production supervisors.
Documenting inspection results by completing reports and logs; Notifying Operators and Supervisors of quality deviations from company standards.
Inspecting process control points, critical control points, and essential quality attributes
Keeping measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions; calibrating equipment and calling for repairs.
Helps resolve quality and safety issues on the production floor.
Requirements:
Minimum of two (2) years’ experience as a Quality Control/Assurance in a food or similar consumer products manufacturing environment or equivalent experience in a food lab
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
Must be able to multi-task and follow-up when responses are needed
Auditing experience preferred
Demonstrated technical knowledge in Quality Processes and systems including but not limited to: GMPs, SSOP, and SPC. SQF and HACCP certification
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, Power Point, and Access).
Must be willing and able to work flexible hours, including weekends
HACCP training preferred
SQF experience
English, Spanish preferred
Schedule: Sunday to Thursday, 10:00pm – 6:30am – Flexibility as needed
