Guitar and Music Production Lessons with an Educated Guitarist

I’m a performing guitarist and music educator who attended Columbia College Chicago to study classical guitar and general guitar performance.

I provide real-time video.lessons using Zoom, in studio music lessons at Sylvan Music in Santa Cruz, and in home lessons in the Santa Cruz area. I teach Guitar (acoustic and electric) , Music Production with Ableton Live and Logic Pro , and Music Theory/Songwriting.
A custom curriculum will be created for every student based upon what they’d like to learn, and their experience. If the student doesn’t know what they’d like to learn, a curriculum will be provided.

$50/hr for online lessons. $70/hr for in studio lessons at Sylvan Music. For in-home lessons, $60/hr plus a $25 travel charge for the general Santa Cruz area. Here’s my bio –

Matthew teaches performance and composition of finger-style guitar including classical, bossa nova and original music. He also teaches modern music ; singer-songwriter acoustic, R&B/soul, funk, pop, and rock.
Matthew performs solo guitar at various events and venues with a setlist including classical guitar, boss anova and original finger-style compositions.

As a freelance musician and music producer, Matthew lived and worked in Los Angeles for 5 years producing music, teaching guitar and music production, and performing as a solo guitarist. He collaborated with Grammy-winning Producer Darryl Swann, co-producing and mixing some of his productions including the song Pink Sunshine (feat. Xara) .

Matthew studied classical guitar with University of Oregon’s John Jarvie, earning his Associate of Arts from Lane Community College in Eugene, Oregon. He continued studying classical guitar at Columbia College Chicago with Norman Ruiz and performed there with the Latin Ensemble.
As a teacher, he works as a freelance instructor but has also worked as a private and group guitar instructor at music schools in the Past –
