Farm/Estate (Start-Up) Farm Assistant
We’re seeking a motivated professional (start-up) farm assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will report to the owners directly and work with farm managers to provide leadership and supplement all-around support.
This person will work closely with the estate owners to learn or autonomously be in charge of the estate and its small farm initiative. He/She/They may be required to be on-site during working hours and must be able to perform manual labor, computer work, and other duties assigned.
This stable, long-term, multifaceted position offers flexible hours and requires various skills. Primary duties include, but are not limited to:
• Office tasks such as data entry, filing, data entry, mail handling, and administrative tasks as needed
• Non-specialized maintenance work like basic furniture assembly, sweeping the barn, cleaning, painting, and repair work
• Basic landscaping work, trimming, and pruning
• Assist with the production, harvesting, packaging, and sanitation of flowers, mushrooms, fruits, and vegetables
• Watering plants and feeding pets when the owners are away
• Ordering supplies and general errands
• Organizing, bottle labeling, and filling
• Inventory check and restocking of sellable products
• (We will teach you how to run e-commerce platforms like Shopify)
• Assist with beekeeping and indoor mushroom cultivation when required
• Social media and customer service support
• Providing general assistance in the day-to-day management and operations of the farm estate.
Qualifications & Requirements:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• An interest in agriculture is a must
• Experience working on a farm preferred
• Ability to work in a team environment, but also great alone
• Good problem-solving skills
• Has a vehicle and a valid driver’s license
• Ability to work in all weather conditions
• Ability to lift 50 pounds
• Computer savvy
• Reliable with good communication skills
• Experience in customer service
• Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
